About the Artist:
Some 50-plus-years-ago in the small town of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, I spent many a day in my father's woodshop desigining, building, and finishing projects. Those days produced some very interesting results. I have spent those years refining my techniques and designs.
Due to the unfortunate luck with two failed back surgeries, I have a limited range of motion and a limited amount of weight I can lift. So the days of spending mulitple hours standing while making the 18th and 19th Century furniture that I used to make are over. Now standing for any extended period becomes an all around challenge.
My wife and I have a combined total of five children and we just celebrated the birth of our fifth grandchild. When the youngest of the children moved from home, so did we. We bought an old farm house with a barn and outbuildings, with the anticipation of restoring the over 200-year-old barn. This too took a backseat to the back problems, let alone the years of neglect to the barn that have now made it impossible to restore or repair.
My neverending passion for creating my next project has never diminished, I just had to develope a less physically demanding way. Each piece is a heart felt work of art created and finished by me. Developing this different way for you to be involved with the design and wood choice gives me great pleasure, as I'm sure it will you, with being a major part of the development of your personalized work of art.
I hope you enjoy your newly obtained piece of art as much as I enjoyed making it for you.
