This turned bowl is made from the root of a wild cherry tree that has been lying in the woods for numerous years, slowly decaying and wearing away from the weather. Fortunately I was able to find this stump before nature reclaimed the wood back into the earth. At first glimpse of the root, there didn't appear to be much of the solid wood remaining. Once I got it to my shop, took a little time studying where I wanted to cut, I was able to claim a few pieces of the roots. A great color, texture, and grain patterns makes this bowl a unique piece all its own. Guaranteed there will be no other bowl like this one.
