KUMIKO Is a traditional Japanese woodworking technique made of wooden strips that form various decorative geometric designs and patterns. Each piece of artwork is made one piece at a time, with an accuracy of 0.1mm. Kumiko is also traditionally used to accent Japanese shoji screens.

No nails or metal fasteners of any kind are found in Kumiko. Only glue is used to hold these intricate patterns together, although it is not necessary as the pieces are friction fit into each other using various angles and grooves.

I make all my Kumiko by hand tools, no machines the traditional way!
